About me

I have 40 years of experience as a leader, educator, and change agent, which enables me to help you identify potential opportunities and empower you to pursue your ambitions. My diverse background includes serving as a long-term substitute teacher in the Philadelphia School District, a biblical instructor in church ministries, and a staff medical adjuster for a major insurance company.

In 2024, after spending 23 years in various supervisory roles within the federal government, I retired from my last position as a Supervisory Contract Specialist. I now partner with individuals and business owners to offer contracted services in executive coaching, leadership coaching, life coaching, mentoring, business consulting, and emotional intelligence (EI) assessments through my private practice.

Experience

Certified Executive Coach

As a certified executive coach and consultant, I specialize in enhancing the leadership skills of executives and high-potential employees to help them tackle complex organizational challenges. I collaborate closely with both senior and emerging leaders to identify their strengths and areas for improvement. Together, we develop personalized strategies for their growth, aligning with their career objectives and encompassing both personal and professional aspirations. This process aims to nurture the next generation of inspiring and impactful leaders.

Professional Certified Coach

I have earned the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). This certification acknowledges experienced coaches who have completed at least 125 hours of accredited training and have gained over 500 hours of actual coaching experience. Holding this credential demonstrates my strong commitment to ethical standards and ongoing professional development in coaching.

Certified Genos International Emotional Intelligence Practitioner

I am a certified emotional intelligence practitioner through Genos International, having completed their emotional intelligence (EI) assessment and leadership development training program. This certification allows me to utilize the Genos framework and assessment tools to evaluate and enhance various aspects of emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, emotional regulation, social awareness, and relationship management across all levels of leadership. I apply the Genos EI model and assessments to coach leaders, individuals, and teams in improving their emotional intelligence skills, which positively impacts both the workplace and personal life.

Educational Journey

My academic journey began at Villanova University, where I earned a Communication Arts degree, focusing on TV journalism. I recognized that communication, in all its forms, is an essential universal skill required in all industries. Understanding the significance of capitalism and free enterprise in our society, I pursued an MBA at La Salle University after fulfilling the business prerequisites and earning a BA in Business administration at Rowan University. My aspiration to earn a PhD led me to explore various leadership programs that deepen my understanding of leadership mindsets and behaviors. I ultimately enrolled in the Doctor of Management in Strategic Leadership and the PhD program for Complex Systems Leadership at Jefferson University. The program at Jefferson is particularly enriching, as it emphasizes leadership from a non-traditional perspective of systems thinking, idealized design, complex problems, organizational development and change, and complex adaptive systems, allowing me to engage with complex issues innovatively and prepare for future challenges in leadership roles. Traditional coaching and mental health coaching training expanded my awareness of integrating the facilitation and application of my learnings more effectively.
